20 Mar Top 5 Indoor Family Fun Activities
It’s raining, it’s pouring, and the kids are saying it’s boring! San Diego has had more rain than usual this past winter season, so we gathered our Top 5 fun activities that can help keep both you and the kids busy indoors!
The New Children’s Museum
Offering something for every age group, The New Children’s Museum believes that both play and art obtain a critical role in children’s creative, emotional, and intellectual development, by promoting creativity and confidence. You and the kiddos can spend a whole afternoon wandering around the one-of-a-kind room-sized art installations before ending up at their hip & healthy café for a snack.
You can make it an even more exciting adventure by taking the Coaster commuter train downtown, and then it’s only a quick 1 mile Uber ride to the museum. You never have to hassle with parking! 🙂

If jumping isn’t your thing, they offer free Wi-Fi, so you can sit back and get some work done while your kids go bonkers and make some new friends.

Vital Climbing Gym
The perfect place to get some exercise inside! Reach for the mountain peak and have a fun day of testing your limits. This place is destined to leave your arms and upper body sore! Don’t worry though, there are different rock wall courses for every skill level, as well as other activities such as slack lining and yoga.
There are locations in both Carlsbad & Oceanside. However, they recommend starting at the Oceanside location if you’re a beginner.

Trust us when we tell you that this art studio isn’t just for kids… It can be fun for the entire family! Plus, it’s always fun to break the norm of day to day by diving into your creative senses!

Pop into one of Ice Town’s open skate hours and have a fun filled day of skating! Even the young ones can take on the skates with their child trainers. If you’re not brave enough to lace up the skates, there is a coffee shop in the corner, as well as benches to sit and watch the kids.
Warning: It does get pretty chilly inside so make sure both skaters and spectators dress warm!
